3D IMAGE BASED SCANNING
3D Image Based Scanning allows to capture the basic shape and surface of a physical object including its colour information. Small details in the shape and surface geometry can not be captured and are only represented by the colour information (normal mapping). Undercuts, hidden parts, holes, hollow cavities, wall thickness, and small details can not be captured.
WHY 3D IMAGE BASED SCANNING ?
With 3D Image Based Scanning objects of almost any size can be 3D scanned. The 3D scan can be conducted indoors and outdoors. Though, certain surfaces and colours are not suitable to be 3D scanned with this technique (see our FAQ for further information).
3D IMAGE BASED SCANNING MODELS
The texture map of 3D Models made with 3D Image Based Scanning can be transferred to Ultra High Detail 3D Models.
3D Models made with Image Based 3D Scanning are suitable for 3D Rendering.
